My New Red Shoes is a non-profit organization started in the Bay Area and now also serving the Greater Portland Metro Area. They work to provide new shoes and clothing for the back-to-school season for homeless and impoverished youth. The goal is to bridge the gap in family budgets by providing these essential items and eliminating the chance that children are missing school, being bullied, or feeling unseen due to missing, tattered, or ill-fitting clothing/shoes. For many years, staff of Southwest Office Supply have been involved in the Sheri Hildreth Ovarian Cancer (SHOC) Foundation. Since it's founding in 2005 by Mrs. Hildreth, a teacher in SE Portland, the foundation has donated $900,000 to support Ovarian and Gynecologic Cancer research at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute. The foundation is working hard to further awareness of ovarian cancer.
